The World Federation’s Islamic Education in collaboration with The Council of European Jamaats have held a Khums seminar to answer popular questions about this important matter.
The seminar aimed to provide practical guidance on how Khums is to be calculated according to the most up-to-date rulings of Ayatullah Sistani (may Allah protect him).
It was held on 4 May at Hujjat Islamic Centre in Stanmore.
Key questions
The seminar was conducted by Maulana Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi, Shaykh Ali Abbas Malik, Shaykh Mohammad Al-Hilli, and Shaykh Mohammed Ali Ismail who spoke about the different dimensions of Khums, and helped answer some key questions about this important area of Islamic law; questions such as:
– If I have a mortgage, do I need to pay Khums?
– What expenses are deductible from my end-of-year surplus?
– Why is Khums obligatory?
– What happens to my Khums after I’ve paid it?
If you would like to know the answers to these vital questions, our forthcoming video will provide the answers and will be released soon.
Huge success
The event was a huge success with around 500 attendees and 800 online viewers of the live broadcast.
Participants came from Hujjat Stanmore, Hyderi, Birmingham, Peterborough, Leicester, Milton Keynes and Essex Jamaats.
