Khoja entrepreneur Aquil Asaria has shared his delight at his football’s club incredible 28th championship win.

Club Sport Herediano were crowned winners of Costa Rica’s National Championship,

the only team in the country’s history to be in 14 consecutive finals and win seven championships.

They are ranked number 1 in Costa Rica, the greatest team of the decade, and number 3 in North America.

Aquil is pictured holding the trophy and said: “We approached the climax of the championship with humility and that helped us make our dream come true.

“We were focused and did not let anything affect us mentally. We became stronger every day and worked humbly to be champions.”

Viva Campeon!

Aquil’s proud brother, World Federation Councillor Sibtein Asaria, said: “VIVA CAMPEON 2019! We pray to the Almighty to bless all of Humanity!”

Aquil was President for nine years and is a major shareholder in Club Sport Herediano, commonly known as Herediano and nicknamed El Team.

They play in the Primera División de Costa Rica, the top tier of the Costa Rican football league. Herediano are one of two clubs to have never been relegated.

Interests on four continents

As an entrepreneur, Aquil Asaria is co-founder with his brother of Grupo Alfa Corporation, a leading business conglomerate based in Costa Rica and with interests on three more continents.

As acting CEO he heads all the group’s projects in Costa Rica and other Latin American and North American ventures.

He first found fortune by co-founding a coffee-roasting business with Sibtein. They supplied customers in Canada and 17 states across the eastern United States. In the 1990s they moved to Costa Rica, developing a shopping mall near San Jose then investing in real estate projects.

Active volunteer

He has been an active volunteer for his local Jamaats from his migration from Mozambique as a young man to Canada then Costa Rica. He is also fully committed to the work of the Asaria Family Foundation, which he set up with Sibtein and their brother Arif to ensure a legacy to community-based projects and initiatives. Its prime focus is providing access to education.
