Staying on the right path is the vital lesson to be learned from the days of the Hajj, the President of The World Federation said in his Eid al-Adha message.

Anwarali Dharamsi urged Khojas to follow the example of the Prophet Musa, who appointed his brother Harun to ensure the community stayed on the right path during his sojourn with Allah (swt).

Pressure of “corrupters”

This was all the more important today when it was essential to resist the pressure of “corrupters,” he warned.

He said that the Day of Eid was a time of reflection: “Today, in 2019, do we refer to the Divinely appointed successor, Imam Ali (as), peace be upon him, who was to the Prophet like Harun was to Musa? Do we avoid following the path of the corrupters within our community who are casting doubts into established principles of the faith? Do we seek to connect to the representative of Allah of our time – Imam al-Mahdi (atfs)?”

Building the community

The Day of Eid was also a time for thinking how Khojas can work on “strengthening the family, building the community”, Mr Dharamsi said.

This would allow members to prepare themselves for a bright future under the leadership of Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his return.

And the message was as relevant not only for the two million Muslims on the Hajj pilgrimage, but for the 1.8 billion Muslims unable to undertake it this year, he said.

Watch spiritual benefits video

To help the community reap the spiritual benefits of Hajj, The World Federation’s Islamic Education team have put together a 6 part video series and created an article on how to reap the rewards of this month which can be downloaded here.

It also includes a write-up by Shaykh Mohammed Ali Ismail on The Spiritual Aspects of Hajj, a translation of Imam Zayn al-Abidin’s (as) discourse on hajj with al-Shibli.
