An incredible 250 students have been able to take online Madrassah classes from an Australian Islamic centre today.

Imam Hasan Centre could not welcome youngsters to its premises in Sydney suburb Annangrove because of the coronavirus pandemic – so offered remote teaching instead.

And the scale of the operation has been impressive:

  • 250 students
  • 31 teachers and admin staff online and teaching
  • 17 individual classes running.

“Allhamdulliah with all the issues happening, Madrassah classes continue. Thank you teachers, thank you parents,” the centre posted on Facebook.

Livestreaming events

Events are also being livestreamed at the centre so the whole community can see them, as attendance is limited to people aged between 16 and 65 for public health reasons.

These events include those marking the martyrdom of 7th Imam Musa Kazim A.S. and martyrdom of Hazrat Abu Talib A.S. today, and next Saturday the birth of 3rd Imam Husayn A.S, the birth of Hazrat Abbas A.S. and the birth of 4th Imam Zain-ul-Abedin A.S.

Imam Hasan Centre was established on Friday 16th October 2004, coinciding with the first night of Ramadhan.
