Iraq’s new ambassador to London has promised to work together with the Khoja community.

His Excellency Dr Ja’far Al Sadr made his pledge during a meeting with a delegation from The World Federation.

Invitation to visit Jamaats

The group paid a courtesy visit today to greet the new ambassador at the London Iraqi Consulate, and invited him to visit Khoja Jamaats in the UK.

Dr Sadr is the son of Late Shaheed Baqar Al Sadr, the author of renowned works ‘Our Economy’ and ‘Our Philosophy’.

The WF delegation included Vice President Shabbar Dhalla; Mahmood Dhala, Assistant Secretary General; Mohamed Kazim Bhalloo, WF Treasurer; Dr Akber Mohamedali, President of the CoEJ; Dr Munir Datoo, President of Stanmore Jamaat and Councillor; and Mustafa Jaffer, Councillor.

Struggle against tyranny

“We were received very warmly and had a cordial discussion about how The WF and its leaders have always been, in the past and present, considerate of the issues that the people of Iraq face in their struggle against tyranny and now the circumstances prevailing in their country,” Mahmood Dhala said.

Working together

“The ambassador acknowledged The WF as an institution renowned for its organisational success as well as its strong ties with the Marja’iyyat. The delegation invited him to visit our centres and His Excellency said he looked forward to working together with the Khoja community.”
