Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has attended the Eid BBQ held by the Crescent village community in Toronto and heaped praise on the community’s values.
He had visited the Crescent Village neighbourhood to meet community members.
And he graciously accepted a box of Mithai presented to him by Zera Bai Moledina.
Values that make us strong
“It is a real pleasure and a privilege to be with you to celebrate Eid Al-Adha,” he said. “An opportunity to come together as a community and reflect on the values that make us strong and draw us together.
“There is no better place to illustrate this than Crescent Village, where communities come together and are deeply committed to success within that community. Whether it’s support for our seniors, support for working families or building a better future for young people. It exemplifies what’s great about the whole of Canada.”
Proud Canadians
He added: “I want to say thank you to all you proud Canadians, committed to this country and their future within this country, committed to their children and their neighbours’ children. As a community you have understood the values that make us strong and great.”
His visit was later aired on Canadian television channel CTV NEWS.
