Clean and Green – three times a winner

What shows a city at its best, uplifts the prospects of street boys and helps the Khoja community? The answer is LET’S DO IT Clean and Green.

This is an initiative to clean the environment and surroundings in the Old Town of Mombasa, a district which is predominantly anti-Shia.

Jaffer Foundation working together with Asaria Family Foundation, AFED and WF-AID are launching LET’S DO IT Clean and Green to create a positive movement.

There are three benefits:

  1. Cleaning up the area – showing this part of the city at its best and giving residents new pride in their surroundings.
  2. Giving the street boys who do the work a meaningful way to contribute to society – and get paid for it.
  3. Promoting peace and tolerance with our neighbors in the Old Town.

Joining forces

The initiative will be launched during the weekend of April 12 to 14, coinciding with the AFED conference in Mombasa.

If you are interested, you are urged to join forces with this initiative in Mombasa. Clean and Green yellow vests and black baseball caps will be easy to see. Khoja brothers and sisters are also invited to emulate LET’S DO IT Clean and Green in other cities.

This soft tabligh approach can be applied in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and further afield.
