Alhamdulillah, by the grace of the Almighty the AFED Business Park Project is nearing completion. This project was expected to finish earlier but due to challenges faced because of pandemic, it took a little more time. The construction industry globally has been facing many challenges such as importation, shortage of construction material just to mention a few since most of the manufacturing either has slowed down on production or has come to halt.
The transportation industry especially shipping has also been drastically affected. All these factors have therefore contributed to the slight delay. Despite these challenges, all AFED projects did not stop and continued. We anticipate completing all our projects by end of 2021 InshaAllah.
The Board holds regular site meetings to keep a thorough check on the progress of the project.
On 3rd June 2021, during the site meeting, various discussions took place and deadline dates set for final inspection and completion. The commitment from all stakeholders during the project has been significant to ensure quality works and completion of works within the set target.
On 17th June 2021, the project team had night inspection and site meeting to see the progress of various works especially the electrical part of the project.
The Africa Federation Chairman Shabir bhai Najafi, accompanied by the Vice Chairman Aunali bhai Khalfan, Hon Treasurer/Managing Trustee Zainul bhai Chandoo visited the site on 29th August 2021 together with the Housing Board Chairman Alhaj Akil Hirji and were happy to witness the quality and progress of the project.
In line with the current pace of ongoing work at the site, we are anticipating to have the inauguration of the project in October 2021 inshaAllah.
