Minister praises Khoja community

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs has praised the Khoja community after receiving a cheque for Rs. 1 Crore (10 million) at The World Federation’s Executive Council Meeting in Karachi.

The donation is towards the construction of two dams.

Anver Rajpar, the President of Pakistan Federation, and Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, the President of The World Federation, presented the cheque to Maritime Affairs Minister Syed Ali Haider Zaidi.

“It is our pleasure to present a donation of PKR Rs. 1 Crore for the construction of the two dams in Pakistan,” said Anwar Rajpar.

Syed Ali told delegates: “I am very thankful to you for your contribution to the dam fund. The Khoja community plays a big part in enhancing the economy of Pakistan. Thank you for inviting me to ExCo, it’s great to see the impact your community has on the Pakistani community”.

The World Federation, in partnership with the Regional Federations, has a proud track record in providing relief and humanitarian aid to the Pakistani people. An example is how The World Federation was the first to provide relief to those affected by the 2005 earthquake in Kashmir.

ExCo was held in Karachi from 30 November to 2 December 2018. Read more here.
